Use Instrumental recordings of songs such as “The Water is Wide,” “Brahm’s Lullaby” and “Simple Gifts” .

Parent and child should be on the floor with child lying on his/her back and parent seated next to child.
Therapist will demonstrate first ROM exercise with music on child’s right arm.
Parent will do ROM exercise. Therapist will assist if necessary.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the next tow ROM exercises.
Parent will do ROM exercises for child’s left arm/hand.
Therapist will assist when necessary.
Therapist will ensure that parent does not have any questions regarding exercises and is comfortable performing exercises when therapist is not present.

Adaptations: If child does not want to lie down on his/her back, the ROM motions may be adjusted for child in seated or standing position.
